Olive Leaf Extract - What is it that we keep talking about
Posted on December 01 2015
Olive Leaf Extract also known as Olea europaea is full of antioxidants and delivers moisture and firmness to the skin while protecting against the harmful effects of external aggressors such as sun and water. It is extremely high in antioxidants and anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.
Not only is Olive Leaf extract a powerful ingredient in body and beauty products, it can even be used to fight invading bacteria, viruses, fungi and other harmful microbes. It has been proven to be useful in combating fungal, yeast and parasitic infection, coronary dilation, hypertension, hypoglycemia and diabetes if taken orally.
Plants like the Olive tree have developed an array of antioxidant defences to protect themselves from environmental stress. This gives them the strength needed to fight free radical production.
Such a wonderful product and straight out of nature, it would appear that the Olive Leaf really does have some extraordinary qualities. With researchers talking of its potential to even help in the battle of HIV, the humble Olive Extract has the power to do much more than we ever expected.
So lets break this down- how is it good for the skin when applied topically:
- Contains a natural bleach to lighten marks on skin especially acne marks
- Anti Inflammatory for acne, eczema and other conditions
- Full of anti-oxidants to repair skin damage from the sun especially fine lines and pigmentation and helps heal quickly
- Reduces reddening of skin
- Hydrates and moisturizes
- Helps with wound healing
What is there not to love? Most of our products contain Olive Leaf Extract and our star product - Olive Leaf Rosehip Oil is just gold in a bottle.
