Dissecting your skincare - Lets face It
Posted on November 05 2015
Lets face it, not a lot of things are good for us and yet there is a mountain of stuff that is good for us. We all know what nature has to offer for our skins but do we really know how? I think most of us see the words "anti oxidants" and "vitamin E" and go - Yes lets buy this! Whilst you are right, it is so important to know why it is amazing for your skin so you know exactly what issues you are tackling.
Washing your face is perhaps the most uncomplicated part of your regime, yet perhaps one of the most important. It is important to wash off all that residual makeup and oil and have a beautiful fresh base for your moisturizers. Always look out for emollients - these are ingredients which have the quality to soften and smoothe the skin. So now, what exactly should be in your face wash and why?
Chamomile
- Calms irritated skin
Cocoa Butter
- Nutrient rich and an excellent emollient which nourishes the skin and helps it retain moisture
- Used to help soften and protect chapped and dry skin
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Assists the skin's ability to naturally regenerate, nourish, hydrate and protect skin
- High in proteins, vitamins, antioxidants to condition and soften skin
Marshmellow Root Extract
- Helps calm and soothe skin
- Enhance moisture levels as well as boost dermal structure and enhance integrity of skin
- Improves skins elasticity whilst lightening it and prevents photo damage
- A potent antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal agent
Olive Squalane
- Boosts skins ability to naturally regenerate, nourish, hydrate, oxygenate and protect itself
- Provides barrier preventing trans-dermal water loss
- Antioxidant rich
- Immune stimulating properties
- Slows down aging, reduces fine lines, reduces puffiness and soothes dry and irritated skin
Pro Vitamin B5
- Used for hair and skin to deeply nourish, hydrate, moisture and protect against dryness
Vitamin E
- An antioxidant, stabilizer and emulsifier - an emulsifier keeps skin hydrated with water and oil
- Great against premature aging and help combat environmental pollutants
The key is Hydration and not to strip your skin of its essential oils. Wash your face twice a day and exfoliate twice a week with good nutrient rich cleansers which will not rid the skin of its moisture and you will be good to go.
